As time passed and my awareness of my connection with the non-human world deepened, I found myself spending hundreds of hours watching the life around me. I became especially fascinated by my neighbors the Orange Bill, Butter Belly Diving Ducks (more commonly known as Non-Flying Steamer Ducks). They form lasting pairs and fiercely defend permanent territories.
